Cultural Ball 2012: November 10, 7:30-10:00 pm, IMU Ballroom
Join your friends, and many international students, in celebrating the 2012 Cultural Ball! Presented by the Organization for the Active Support of International Students (OASIS).
OASIS is collaborating with Students Abolishing Slavery (SAS) and the Asian American Coalition(AAC) to inform the University of Iowa community that slavery is still prevalent around the world. SAS will be holding an ongoing display outside the front doors of the 2nd Floor Ballroom with a petition you can sign. There will also be a photobooth by the display.
NO Admission fee!! It’s a FREE Event!
Desserts and Beverages will be provided.
Cultural Ball embraces the idea of different cultures interacting and living in peace. Everyone is encouraged to dress up in dresses, hanboks, agbada, sari or ao ba ba, or any other traditional clothing you grew up with or admire. If you don’t have traditional clothing, dress up and put your dancing shoes on!
There will be performances throughout the night by Iowa Anhdi, Irish Dancers, Iowa Agni, KUSA, Near East Dance Ensemble and Hawkeye Bhangra.
Join us on the dance floor and learn to Salsa and Swing, led by the Hawkeye Ballroom Dancers!
